These are only the names of victims of communism in Bulgaria that have been entered so far. Many more thousands of names will be entered in due course. The site is under constant renovation. We kindly ask you to submit additions and corrections. A form for submitting additional information can be downloaded here. You can send the filled-in form to victims@victimsofcommunism.bg.

The survivors of communist repressions in Bulgaria will be honored by a separate site (presently under construction). With profound respect for what they have suffered, we appeal to the survivors and their relatives to send us names and biographical information. The documentary by Atanas Kiriakov "The Survivors. THIS MEMORIAL HAS BEEN ERECTED FOR OUR COMPATRIOTS, VICTIMS OF THE COMMUNIST TERROR: THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES, THOSE WHO VANISHED WITHOUT A TRACE, THOSE WHO WERE SHOT BY THE SO-CALLED "PEOPLE'S TRIBUNAL". IT COMMEMORATES THE CONCENTRATION CAMP PRISONERS, THE POLITICAL PRISONERS, THOSE WHO WERE INTERNED, THOSE SUBJECTED TO POLITICAL REPRESSION, AND THEIR ILL-FATED FAMILIES AND RELATIVES.
MAY THE MEMORY OF THE INNOCENTLY SHED BLOOD BURN IN OUR HEARTS LIKE AN ETERNAL FLAME. MAY THE PAST NEVER REPEAT ITSELF!
